Parents, guardian and staff are as much a part of our school community as the children. As adults, we can only educate and care for our children effectively if we are able to look after ourselves. Therefore, Hungerford have developed their skills and understanding around adult wellbeing and mental health so that we can extend our offer of support to anyone within the community who may need it.
Some early signs of poor mental health might be:
- poor concentration
- worrying more
- finding it hard to make decisions
- feeling less interested in day-to-day activities
- low mood
- feeling overwhelmed by things
- tearfulness
- tiredness and lack of energy
- sleeping more or less
- talking less and avoiding social activities
- talking more or talking very fast, jumping between topics and ideas
- finding it difficult to control your emotions
- irritability and short temper
- aggressionHaving these symptoms alone does not mean that you are suffering from poor mental health but if they begin it impact on your everyday activities and lives then it is important to find out more and get some help.
